3D Print Cost Lab is an independent decision-tool site for makers, small sellers, print services, and product designers. It turns slicer output and business costs into inspectable decisions—not a hidden “correct price.”
What this site builds that a generic article cannot
The P1S + AMS Cost Hub connects material, multicolor waste, maintenance, storage, and selling price in the order a quote is built.
Six focused calculators expose formulas, units, editable defaults, failure allowance, and the decision each output supports.
The browser-only Print Job Log turns slicer estimates and finished-job values into a personal correction ratio. Records stay on the visitor's device.
The 12-point Cost Audit identifies omitted labor, downtime, maintenance, fees, and risk, then exports an action list.
Why this site exists
Filament and electricity alone cannot price a product, plan a print farm, or justify a mold. Labor, failure allowance, machine replacement, sales fees, utilization, process waste, and fixed tooling must be added to the correct base.
Each page starts with a decision, shows the equation, labels example assumptions, and sends the visitor to the relevant calculator or record tool. Supporting articles point to one canonical page for the same search task instead of multiplying near-duplicate answers.
Operator, experience, and evidence limits
The site is operated by a software developer and maker with experience in product design, small-batch FDM production, costing, sales, vendor quotations, and print-versus-molding decisions. Commercial examples are anonymized or rounded when necessary.
That experience is not a substitute for your shop data. The site does not invent print photos, measurements, or tests. When no measured record exists, a number is labeled as an editable worked example or traced to a manufacturer or primary reference. Independent operation and revenue
3D Print Cost Lab currently has no paid recommendation or sponsor relationship with a printer, material, or software vendor. The site is intended to earn revenue from AdSense advertising, but advertisers do not control calculator results or editorial choices.
Editorial boundary
