Print Cost Lab

Workshop cost audit

A print can be profitable on paper and still lose cash.

Use this evidence-based checklist before trusting a quote. It identifies missing cost records and turns each gap into a specific next action.

Find the costs missing from your quote

Select only the items already supported by your cost sheet. The useful result is not the score—it is the prioritized action list below.

The checklist rewards evidence, not optimism.

Higher-risk omissions carry more weight

Hands-on labor, machine replacement, observed failures, selling fees, and target margin have two points because a missing value can materially change the quote. Smaller but recurring items receive one point.

A checked box is not a universal “correct” value

It means your cost sheet contains a value you can defend. The number should come from your records, bill, current channel rules, or a clearly labeled temporary assumption.

Use the CSV as a workshop action list

The downloaded file contains every check and the next action for unresolved items. Re-run the audit after you collect new job data; the site does not save your selections.

Replace assumptions with your own numbers.
